Photoshopping the Priest's Eyes

To edit the priest's eyes, I screenshotted a still from the clip.
Then I put that into Photoshop and created a frame animation.
I duplicated the initial layer several times so with each layer I can make the priest's eyes go darker.
To do this, I clicked on each layer in the frame animation then clicked on the New Layer button on the small panel on the bottom right to create a brush layer over this background layer.
With each layer I built up the darkness. I tested out opacities for the brush tool and found that the best format is 100% as if the opacity is any less, the animation looks slightly unprofessional. A circle shaped brush was the best one as it was easiest to follow the shape of the priest's eyes.
I began colouring in his eyes; with each layer the darkness grew gradually, this resulted in there being many layers in the animation, however I formatted them all to be 0 seconds long so the animation runs smoothly.
I had to keep switching the size of the brush and zooming in to properly colour in every section of his eyes then zooming back out to see if it looked good and then playing the animation to see if it ran smoothly.
