In order to create an effective film poster for our teaser trailer and promotional package, I felt that it
was important to find the conventions of a good film poster. In a previous blog post, I explored five posters in explicit detail- Oculus, American Mary, Contagion, Dead Footage and Clinger.
Below, I have listed all of the conventions found from this intial piece of research, stating what we will need to put on the poster, related to our film trailer, The Subsequent of Sin.
Release date- The date that we will use is going to be October 31st (around halloween so sales will be higher as horror and supernatural fans increase during this time).
Production companies- Kills Productions and Legacy Films are the two production companies for the production of our teaser trailer.
Website- www.SOSMOVIE.com is the website link to our website for The Subsequent of Sin.
Name- "The Subsequent of Sin" will be shown clearly to the audience, saying the name of the film.
Links to social media wesites- There will be links to twitter and facebook on the poster.
Main characters- The demon Priest/ the sinners.
Tag line- Nothing can save your soal and SOS will be shown as our taglines and our anagram on the poster.
Genre depicted through colour scheme- A black and red colour scheme will be used to depict the horror genre as well as a supernatural edit using Photoshop.
Symbols- The sins will be written in order down the side of the poster to denote the narrative to the audience.
Contrasting colours- Black, red and white colours contrast and will make the poster look eye catching to the audience.
Typography- The typography on the poster will match the typography of the rest of the promotional package.
