I did most of the filming as Annie was acting, however we both directed the scenes. When filming the bedroom scene, lighting was an issue as it was light outside, so we had to close the curtains but some light still penetrated through the gaps. Therefore, we disguised this by making the lights flash - Annie was acting, I was filming and Ethan was by the light switch making the flicker. We added the flickering of the lights to also conform to the supernatural convention of flickering lights when a 'force' is present. I had to film the scene several times as the camera kept going in and out of focus because of the adjustment to the flickering lights.
After, we filmed the scene where the Lust man gets killed and is found by the Lust woman. Again, lighting was another issue as we wanted it to be dark when the woman walks to the bathroom trying to find her boyfriend, however we had to turn on a few lights around where she was walking in order to see Annie's facial expression.Annie did the special effects on Ethan; he was to have his stomach torn open by the demon because the demon is a misogynist priest who wants female sinners to suffer and believed that Ethan was not part of the 'plan' so killed him (which, in turn, also made the Lust woman suffer).
We filmed the scene where I walked past the window while the couple were watching TV, with mise en scene - wine, roses and candles. I wore the same large black coat and black gloves as I did in the Pride scene and had to walk past the window multiple times as the angle of the long shot kept showing half of my face. I also walked in tip-toes in order to make myself seem taller (and to get my head out of the shot).
After filming, I saw that there was Church opposite Annie's house, and as our trailer is centered on Christian sins, I decided to film a establishing shot of this which could possibly use. Also, the light to dark blue gradient of the sunset behind the Church made the shot appear more sinister.
Overall, filming the Lust scenes was successful as there were not too many complications; lighting was the only trouble for some of the shots. We re-filmed all the scenes several times in order to find the best one to put in the trailer, however this was not difficult. Also, we tried out a range of camera angles including over the shoulder (when Annie finds Ethan dead in the bath), long shot (of the couple watching TV), mid-shot (couple in urban location) and an establishing shot (of the Church).
