- Sloth: dirty, rugged clothing
- 2 Lust sinners: man and woman - casual, everyday clothing, red top (connoting love and lust)
- Greed: casual all-black clothing (to 'hide' himself when he is stealing from Gluttony)
- Envy: casual clothing, Vogue magazine in hand
- Wrath: white shirt, trousers, smart shoes
- Gluttony: sweatpants and sweatshirt, food stains
- Pride: black suit and crisp white shirt, big, flashy watch, briefcase
The Sloth character will be wearing rugged clothing as she will be squatting in a derelict building because he is too lazy to work and does not mind living in these conditions. She lacks motivation and we will represent this through their clothing and his room's mise en scene. Ideally, she will be wearing dull-coloured sweatpants and sweatshirt - browns, greys, blacks - to emphasize their untidiness and lack of self-improvement, and will wear a beanie which is stereotypical for someone who is squatting. A typical convention for a sloth-like person is to wear clothing with holes and rips, however I will be subverting this as we do not want to portray our sloth as being poor; they have some money but are simply unmotivated.
The 2 lust sinners will be wearing red in order to connote love and lust; I would like the girl to wear a strappy red top as this emphasises lust, however one problem of this will be the weather when we film. As we will be filming in this month of October, the temperature is unusually very cold so we will not dress the female lust sinner in a strappy red top. They will also be wearing jeans and casual comfortable shoes as Annie and I will be portraying them as 'normal' people so that they are more relatable to the audience. This relatability will frighten the audience more as they will be able to identify with the sinners - thus, making the trailer more entertaining and persuasive. Additionally, the colour co-ordination will emphasize to the audience how they are a couple, and this is useful as our trailer will only be 1 minute long so we must denote the lust sin immediately.
The greed sinner will be wearing casual, all-black clothing in order to 'hide' himself when he is stealing money from Gluttony. They will be wearing black jeans, a black top and leather jacket, as leather is stereotypically worn by reckless, 'tough' characters. They may also be wearing a black beanie to cover themselves more to emphasize how they will be trying to 'hide' themselves.
Envy will be a girl and she will be wearing casual plain clothing and will be looking at a Vogue magazine with jealousy. Her clothing will be plain to connote how she is jealous of the glamorous, expensive clothing in the magazine. Her hair will be tied back to emphasize her simplistic style.
Wrath will be wearing a white shirt, trousers and smart shoes, but the sleeves will be rolled up and his shirt will be slightly untucked - so he appears as casual-smart. He will be at an ATM machine and will be furious that it is not working, and this emotion and the clothing has connotations of him being a stuck-up man.
Gluttony will be wearing loose-fitting (perhaps sweatpants and sweatshirt) clothing with food stains on them to portray their carelessness and over-indulging and over-interest in food. They will be sitting down in the London preaching scene and will have some money coming out of the back pocket - which greed will be stealing. Then in the other scene where Gluttony is eating, he will be wearing a baggy t-shirt and a jacket as it will be at night, and to show the audience that a change in clothes means it is a different day - so the demon has been watching him for a while.
The pride sinner will be wearing a black suit, a clean crisp white shirt, a big flashy watch and will be holding a briefcase. This outfit will emphasize how he takes pride in his appearance and wants to show off how wealthy and well-established he is.
