Fight Club Flash Appearances

In Fight Club, the character Tyler Durden is shown before he is introduced in the film. He flashes up for a split second when the main character (who does not have a name) is narrating and these flash appearances are used to connote how Tyler is slowly making his way into the main character's life.
I like how these flash appearances are used because most people do not notice it as it is so quick - which is probably why it is used four times so the audience will be able to pick up on at least one flash. As they are so quick, it makes the audience question whether they saw it which makes it more effective as this is what is happening inside The Narrator's brain in the film.

I have taken inspiration from this and have decided for the demon priest to flash up when one of the victims is doing something in the trailer so the audience know that there is a supernatural element to this film. Also, the flash appearance of the priest will scare the audience as they can see there is something by the victim, but the victim is unaware - serving almost as dramatic irony. However, the flash will appear for a split second more than the ones in Fight Club as our audience must notice it because we do not have enough time to show it more than once.
